The Prefabulous Vacation Home...
Delivered to your Site

Architecton and Shelter Industries can help make building your own coast or island vacation home an easier process. The concept takes the client 'from design to move-in'.
ARCHITECTON, an award-winning firm headed by architect, Kon Uyeyama, is currently working with Harold Clifford, President of SHELTER INDUSTRIES, a prefabricated-building manufacturer, on custom and modern prototypical design for areas where it is difficult if not impossible to get contractors and sub-trades.

Modular construction is ideal for remote building sites for several reasons:

But what is truly impressive about the modular home construction is that your home can be built in as little as three months! The efficiency of this method is that the modules can be built in the factory, simultaneously with site work. Normally, vacation homes can take as long as two years to complete.
When it comes to the home itself, Architecton can design modular built homes, from a cottage to a mansion, with a wide range of features you would only expect to find in a site-built homes. These are such things as heated slate floors, glass-covered sun decks, vaulted exposed-beam ceilings, lofts, log siding, carports, out door hot tubs/spas, extra-large view windows, and a raft of interior design features.

If you have or are thinking about building a home on a remote site, why deal with the task of scheduling trades to come to the site, when you can have the home of your dreams with Architecton and Shelter Industries.
You can check out the feature project, 'AMAZING VACATION HOME' at www.architecton.ca to see the construction process and the finished project.
The project received 'kudos' for "STUNNING VACATION HOMES DELIVERED TO YOUR SITE" in the architecture BC's Year in Review. Also the concept has been published in the Journal of Commerce. and was featured in the May 2006 edition of Western Living. The article was entitled "Home Delivery".
