This event is a fundraiser for the Child and Youth Suicide Prevention Committee, a committee supported by Sunshine Coast Community Services, and a variety of community organizations on the Sunshine Coast. Celebrating Gay Pride and the vibrancy and health of our unique community is our way of creating visibility and healthy choices for all. The more we are seen as active, caring, contributing members of our communities, the easier it will be for our young people to embrace who they are and accept themselves and others. The Sunshine Coast LGBTQ community supports the Child and Youth Suicide Prevention Committee. Our goal is that someday we won’t need to.
Come dance and Celebrate the LGBTQ community and support the prevention of Child and Youth Suicide.
Just hop on the ferry at the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal and head over to the Langdale Ferry Terminal on the Sunshine Coast for a small town Pride Dance and Fundraiser, commemorating Stonewall.
South Sunshine Coast/Powell River & West Vancouver MLA Nicholas Simons will give opening remarks, followed by Adelene de la Soul Poet; Singer Songwriter Yvette Narlock takes the stage for a set, and Vancouver’s very own DJ SHE brackets performances.
If the club scene is not your thing, maybe a small town country hall is! Special getaway packages are on offer for the weekend, and there will be a Silent Auction and door prizes.
