Like many coastal communities, pricing has been rising, especially since COVID-19 and an exodus from larger cities.

Gibsons realty listings are ideally suited for the commuter lifestyle, with car pooling, transit and other options available to get you to and from Vancouver every day. Gibsons Landing is picturesque, and a working seaside harbour; it is popular year round for visitors and offers beautiful views of the Coastal Range mountains and Keats & Gambier Islands.

Roberts Creek is single family homes and acreages; beautifully treed and with several access points to beaches, the Creek is known as 'The Gumboot Nation', with a lively culture unique on the Sushine Coast, and is home to the Roberts Creek Community Hall - the best venue for musicians across the Coast. Roberts Creek real estate purchasers say they value the relaxed lifestyle, less traffic, and natural light for gardening and artistic endeavors. Roberts Creek real estate is on both sides of Highway 101 and there are significant large lots/acreages above Hwy. 101.

Wilson Creek / Davis Bay / Selma Park / Sechelt Real Estate covers waterfront and ocean view real estate, beachside condominiums, cottages for sale, Sechelt Indian Band leased real estate at Mission Point and Monkey Tree Lane, as well as Sechelt Village's mix of single home dwellings, view condominiums, and newly built subdivisions towards Sechelt Inlet and out to West Sechelt. Sechelt Vllage is a favorite real estate buy for seniors with flat walking, close proximity of stores, and easy access to Shishalh Hospital.

From West Sechelt to Halfmoon Bay, it is primarily Sunshine Coast real estate attractive to families and independent seniors. The West Sechelt bus route is a good schedule, with runs to Sechelt, the Arena, Gibsons and the Langdale Ferry Terminal. West Sechelt is the largest growing neighbourhood in Sechelt.

Halfmoon Bay is another great spot for families wanting to buy a home on the Sunshine Coast and still have access to a great school (Halfmoon Bay Elementary) and level plateaus for gardening, as well as easy access to miles of backwoods trails for mountain biking, hiking, dog walking, and fresh/saltwater fishing. Minimum 5 acre lot sizes are found on the far side of the Halfmoon Bay area.

Secret Cove through to Pender Harbour/Madeira Park offers bc real estate with stunning oceanfront views from rocky promontories and private bays all along this winding coastline. This Sunshine Coast real estate feels very different from points south; it's a slower way of life in Pender Harbour, though there are a growing number of services, primarily in the Madeira Park area. Early retirees, families who enjoy more independence, and people who work in the fishing and tourism industries choose Pender Harbour real estate. Garden Bay, Irvine's Landing, Sakinaw Lake and Ruby Lake are quiet, contemplative locations, with plenty of wildlife, brilliant skies at night, freshwater recreation and access to the Sunshine Coast's old-growth backcountry.

Powell River covers a lot of territory; from Lang Bay right through to the approach to Lund. Major housing areas are Westview, Marine Drive, the Heritage Townsite, Wildwood and Cranberry. Most of the mid-density housing is up in the Westview area, close to transit, shopping and the airport. Townsite residents love the eclectic community, the sense of heritage throughout the buildings both private and commercial/public, and the tight community fabric. MLA Nicholas Simons and partner live in the Townsite. Wildwood and Cranberry are both sub-rural areas, with very affordable single family home costs, good transit service, and proximity to both the Powell River Hospital and the Rec Centre.

Lund is a community unto its own, originally inhabited by Gl'amin/Coast Salish, and then settled by Frederick Thulin, a young Swedish emigree who named it for the Swedish city famed for its university, culture and rich heritage. (That's why when you search for only the word 'Lund' you get such a diverse and worldly set of results). Lund draws people who enjoy a bit more isolation than 'town folks', especially in the winter months. The community of Bliss Landing is a further approximate 7km on the rough backcountry Sarah Point Road, or ten minutes by boat. Lund is also the jumping off point for Desolation Sound, one of the most popular cruising areas on North America's West Coast.

The islands offer a completely different experience of Sunshine Coast real estate ownership. Many are boat-access only (Keats, Gambier, Thormanbys, Savary, Lasqueti, Nelson, Lamb, Trail Islands) - only Texada offers car ferry service. Most are managed either by the Regional Districts, in cooperation with the Islands Trust, which means it can take some investigation to find out zoning/density limits, and you may be on a waiting list for properties to come open.

Commercially speaking, the Sunshine Coast has a variety of businesses and commercial land lots for sale in the commercial real estate market. From light manufacturing to village retail to tourism to food businesses, the Sunshine Coast appeals to commercial real estate buyers who value self-employment, decent per square footage commercial space leasing rates, and civic life that welcomes innovative businesses. There is also a succession planning business on the Coast, VentureConnect, that puts together sellers of local businesses - and all of their financials and data - together with new entrepreneurs.
