The Inland
Lake Forest Provincial Park and Trail System are located 12 kilometers
north of Powell River. The 5.5 kilometer lake is situate
in a semi-remote forest setting and supports an abundant, varied
wildlife population.
It provides excellent camping, fishing, boating and outdoors oriented
activities. The site is open from may 12th to September 30 and provides
basic facilities for both disabled and able bodied persons. Route
Description The 12 kilometer wheelchair accessible circuit includes
8 picnic/rest areas, 4 overnight camping areas and 6 fishing piers.
The trail is a crushed limestone covered pathway with minimal grades.
Small, rustic log cabins are located at the overnight campsite areas.
The cabins are reserved for disabled persons but can be utilized
by able bodied parties if available. Note: If an able bodied
person is utilizing one of these cabins and a disabled person wishes
to use the cabin, it is the responsibility of the able bodied person
to move to a another site.
Other facilities at Inland lake include accessible outhouses, fishing
piers and a caretaker at the main campsite to offer assistance when
requested. The site and trail system is located in a remote area
in natural surroundings where rapidly changing conditions and hazards
exist.
Persons using these facilities
are advised to employ caution and common sense. A caretaker is located
at the main Inland Lake campsite from May 15th to September 30th
and is available for updated information and assistance upon request.
